Live art in Festival Place, January 2020
Catch Sian Storey painting her tallest ever mural, January 18 and 19 in Festival Place Basingstoke.
Live painting for soulful reflection
Festival Place is inviting shoppers to beat the January Blues and begin 2020 mindfully with a calming two-day live painting experience by a local artist.
Known for her beautiful, nature-inspired paintings, Sian Storey will be creating a stunning underwater-themed mural, which will surround the ‘hydration station’ at the Basingstoke shopping centre.
Depicting fish, water and beautiful blossoms, the mural will draw attention to the water refill point and encourage visitors to reuse their water bottles.
The live painting experience with Sian Storey will begin on January 18 with the grand reveal taking place on Blue Monday, January 20.
Sian said: “I’m creating a scene of tranquility for visitors to Festival Place, a moment of mindfulness to pause, exhale and admire some art.”
The hydration station, which is part of the Refill initiative and located next to Lush, demonstrates Festival Place’s ongoing commitment to help the environment and raise awareness.
The Refill campaign aims to stop millions of single-use plastic bottles at source each year by offering free water refill stations throughout the UK.
Other retailers that also offer free water refills in the centre include Greggs, Costa, Pret and Nando’s.
Marketing Manager, Emily Palmer said: “We’re delighted to welcome Sian back to create another bespoke mural and we can’t wait to see the end result.
